Celebration of the National Day of Moroccans Living Abroad
In the framework of the profound care bestowed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, to members of our community abroad, the Department of Moroccans Living Abroad will celebrate the National Day of Moroccans Living Abroad on August 10th, 2026, under the theme: “Moroccans Living Abroad in the service of the projects of Morocco 2030”.
Celebrated annually on August 10th, this day, established in 2003 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, represents a privileged opportunity to strengthen the bonds between Moroccans living abroad and their country of origin. It highlights their achievements and aspirations in a context marked by profound changes and new challenges.
As in previous years, and in order to enable our fellow citizens residing abroad to actively participate in this day during their summer stay in Morocco, celebrations will be organized at the level of various prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior.
This year’s celebration takes place against a national backdrop marked by the accelerating pace of major strategic projects launched by the Kingdom with a 2030 horizon. These projects encompass infrastructure development, attracting investment, accelerating the digital transition, the energy transition, water resource management, and the modernization of public services. Added to this are preparations for hosting the 2030 World Cup, which represents an exceptional opportunity to bolster economic, social, and spatial development.
This celebration aims to highlight the contributions of Moroccan competencies living abroad in various fields—particularly scientific, economic, technological, and cultural. The goal is to strengthen their involvement in national development projects and to underscore their role in supporting the Kingdom’s strategic initiatives.
